Finlay killed Ogha in battle.
No major hard feelings, now they’re both ghosts and working together - it wasn’t personal and they both respect loyalty - but they keep abusing their inability to permanently die by duelling each other. They both want to know who’s stronger in a fair fight.
(So far it’s 50-50)

The ashes of Redmane Knight Ogha, handed to you.
trinkets and baubles fit for the crow's nest // accepting.
Isn't too often that someone comes around with an offer to trade spirit ashes, much less to give them away without asking for a single rune for their troubles. With so many of the dead in the Lands Between either interred within the roots of the Erdtree or shambling about as unliving scourges, they were rare enough to find and even rarer to use given how few spiritcaller bells were out there.
Sam's already wary and uneasy at this entire exchange, and it's only made worse when the box of ashes is held carefully between his soot-stained hands. While any writing on the box is meaningless to him, the clear embellishments etched into it speak plainly of how honored the deceased must have been. Then the sigil of the Redmane etched upon it catches his gaze, and Sam damn near drops the thing onto the ground with a startled coughing fit.
"Who...?" Whatever wariness that might've lingered on his part has evaporated, replaced with surprise and then determination as he frees the weathered bell from its place tucked away within his cloak. Flinty eyes fixated on the box, Sam hesitates for a moment before giving the spiritcaller bell a firm shake, and while the spirit fails to materialize the impression of its presence is more than telling.
A lion's fierce banner flapping beneath a crimson sun, the tautness of a mighty bow in the eye's twinkling before release, the power to halt the sky fashioned 'pon arrow's head, the Valkyrie's kindred clashing with the Red Lion's sworn in doomed war-- and Sam can breathe again with a harsh wheeze, nearly doubled over.
"Where the fuck," he rasps, stained hands trembling and bone-white from how tightly he's gripping the remains of the most honored one. "did ya find this?" As if remembering himself and the need to actually breathe, Sam stuffs the spirit ashes into the very same satchel he keeps his valuables within before whirling on the stranger. "... don't answer that. Take this," and a hero's rune is thrust into their chest accompanied by a low hiss, "an' walk on... might find ya later."

Redmane Knight Ogha
Tumblr media
Legendary ashen remains. Use to summon the spirit of Ogha, the Redmane Knight.
Spirit of a mighty knight versed in the use of a greatbow. A valiant warrior who will attack immediately after being summoned.
The longest-serving member of the Redmane Knights, Ogha studied techniques to manipulate gravity alongside Radahn. May use a rain of gravitational arrows in response to a war cry, but only once.

It's funny as hell how the first Redmane Knight wasn't some knight from the Carian royals or some Alabaster individual but instead Radahn just got his classmate to join his cool new Platoon of Knights
Like all the other Knight Ashes have lore-based backstories with interesting relationships or trivia, meanwhile this is just: After graduation Radahn asked his classmate to become a knight and Ogha said "sure lol"

@blasphering: liked for a starter (Rykard) (pre-shattering)
The few times that Radahn stepped foot out of his castle was either to head to the capital, or to visit his mother: accompanied by no less than at least one company of his knights and his trusted second in command, Ogha. This visit was... a new one, to say the least, and the only time where he went alone: Ogha disagreed, getting him to stay behind at Redmane was a damned miracle.
‘You’re our General, everyone knows what you look like. What’s to say that there isn’t going to be some bold assassin who aims to do you in when you are beyond our eyes?’
He shakes his head, partly from amusement and partly from exasperation:  They’d have to be exceptionally stupid to attempt on his life, even without considering his greatswords (currently strapped to his back alongside his trusted bow), his sorcery (how did so many manage to actually forget that he was a sorcerer?) -
An insistent whinny brings the general out of his thoughts. Leonard nudges at his leg. Ah, right, Rykard would be expecting him soon.

🍓 - Do dates matter to them? Do they often put a big focus on anniversaries, partners birthdays, Valentines day etc?
Short answer: YES.
Long answer, it absolutely is, mainly the aspect that he gets to spend time with Sal since they are both technically extremely busy. Yes, for all the lovey dovey old married couple that they are, they both know they have to maintain a sense of decorum when out in public, especially in the face of the Redmane Knights (despite Ogha cackling that everyone already know that they're probably being nasty in the bedroom so PDAs aren't even the worst), and before the Shattering (especially this time) when they are acting as master and bodyguard in Leyndell because Mother Marika decided that it's unseemly for a demigod prince like Radahn to wed a commoner (Radahn: 🖕).
As a result it's often only late at night when they get to truly enjoy each other's presence.
It got a bit better after Sal moved into Castle Redmane with Radahn, serving as both his second in command and fellow castle castellan with old Jerren. At least they'd be able to look at each other with affection and display (in appropriate amounts) of their affection, a lingering touch there, a fond look there, and so on.
Radahn makes a particular point to celebrate their anniversary of course. It's the remembrance of the happiest day of their lives and the day when they make up for times missed while they are apart. He wakes him with a kiss and hucks all his duties to Ogha to handle (no interrupting him unless the castle is literally under siege). Even a battle hardened warrior with the title of the Starscourge has his soft moments, believe it or not: a shared drink here and there, sweet lovemaking thrown in time to time, basking in each other's presence being the main point of that day.
"Sun of my sky." Isn't just a fond saying from Radahn, he literally means it. Just as the sun gave light to guide the way, he was his sun, and just as the sun gave everyone light no matter who they are... He was the sun that saw him without the expectations everyone else had: to Salvius, he's just Radahn, his husband. Thus does he place so much importance on their dates and their time together, because this is how much he means to him.

For the character ask. Ogha, number 4.
Was barely aware this guy existed, but here goes nothing...
Before the Redmanes were even a thing, Ogha was a knight sworn to House Caria. Obviously Radagon and Rennala weren't going to let their young son hang out with an unpredictable alien sorcerer like the Onyx Lord unsupervised, so Ogha was assigned to observe Radahn's lessons.
These observations often amounted to long stretches standing guard in the cold and the rain, and even back then Ogha was pushing middle age. His knees freaking hurt. Radahn always insisted on buying him a hot mug of mead after each lesson.
Moving to Caelid was the best decision he ever made. Prior to the Bloom, the region was pleasantly warm year round. The sea air was nice too. Although he continued to keep up with his archery, Ogha was quite enjoying semi-retirement before the demigods had to go and ruin everything.
Random facts: 1) he snores 2) his favorite meal is bread with olives.

Perfumer Priscilla
Tumblr media
This became a whole thing in Prince of Death ch. 116 because I didn't properly think through my name choice for a background character. But I'm kind of glad it did.
Priscilla is a medicinal perfumer in Radahn's army. When asked what she used to do for a living, she'll always say she's retired. No one knows exactly what she retired from.
The Redmanes are split on whether she's a former drake knight or the hybrid offspring of an ancient dragon in human form. But they all agree that there's something distinctly dragonish about her. They've never seen her without the headband. She is their favorite aunt.
Will occasionally grab a pint with Sir Ogha, as he's the only one even close to her age. She also has a pet crow that she's trained to deliver short messages and fetch ingredients for her.

@gigantetian liked for a starter: (General Radahn)
It came as a miracle to him that they would still remain within the service of the royal family. They were the best men of the first of the Elden Lords, and now that Godfrey was exiled, he’d expected for the Queen to send them with him, not keep them here at Lyndell. No matter, if they were to stay here, then they will serve them as she wished: Godfrey would not have wanted for any of them to risk their lives for him by disobeying the Queen’s wishes, and neither will he.
The Crucible Master adjusts his shoulder pauldron with his steps up the staircase. General Radahn’s summons came with as much surprise as he did to hear that they would not be disbanded: a summon that called upon him, of all men there could be. Far as he was concerned, there were other better, and more capable knights than he, weren’t there?
Redmane Knight Ogha, for one, Radahn’s own student who once studied the same branch of magic alongside him.
He shakes his head a little, sending the thought away. No matter now, if he was needed, then he will answer to the commands of the general and prince. The summons had called for him to arrive at the Sanctuary of the Erdtree, after all.
